Hermitage Premium Wines was set up in early 2005 by a group of people with an interest in wine, with one simple objective – to sell good quality wine at everyday drinking prices. The grapes are sourced predominantly from the Adelaide Hills, being our home, though good quality parcels from other regions have and will be vinified as long as they are able to provide outstanding drinking value for money.

Wine, after all, has many well-publicised health benefits; from reducing the risk of heart disease to aiding digestion to just being an excellent way to relax after a day’s work. It should always be enjoyable to have a glass or two with dinner, but if you are paying $20 a bottle for good wines the costs will mount up over time. Hermitage Premium Wines’ range will excite the palate without damaging the bank balance!

Hermitage Premium Wines will also offer a small range under a ‘Reserve’ label, from selected parcels, again offering outstanding value for money.

Hermitage Premium Wines is based at the historic Glen Ewin Estate, on Lower Hermitage Road in Houghton, home of the famous Glen Ewin Jams for nearly 140 years.

Over the last fifteen years, under the ownership of Bill and Wendy Wauchope, the property has been transformed into an internationally recognised wine storage facility. It is here that Hermitage Premium Wines products are stored, under excellent conditions.

The current-release Adelaide Hills reds i.e. the 2003 Pinot Noir and 2003 Merlot, were crafted by Ben Riggs, with the upcoming 2004 versions made by Tim Knappstein. Both are extremely well known and highly regarded the world over for their winemaking skills.
